15 passengers have died on the spot, whiles 25 others have sustained major degrees of injuries after a Youtong bus collided with Fuel Tanker at Gomoa Okyereko.

To this end, D.O. 3 Abdul W Hudu, the central public relations officer for the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), has blamed overspeeding for the recent spate of accidents on the region’s highways.

He gave drivers a caution to slow down on the highway. He spoke on TV3’s midday program on Tuesday, May 30, and cautioned motorists to drive carefully.

There was an accident at Gomoa Okyereko in the Central Region, where there were sixteen fatalities and countless injuries. A fuel truck with the license plate WR 2063-10 and a Yutong bus with Accra as its destination both got into an accident. The 15 passengers passed away instantly.
